چکیده
School libraries can exist in two spaces, a physical space or a virtual space. The author argues that students need a virtual library as well as a physical library because of the different learning opportunities that can be supported by virtual libraries. If a virtual library is carefully planned and designed, it can provide a rich learning environment. Although some authors nay distinguish between various termns used to describe virtual libraries: digital libraries, electronic libraries, e-libraries, and the broader term virtual library, in this article, the term virtual library is used to describe any nanaged collection of information sources in an electronicformat. Therefore, virtual libraries could include

Assessing the relationship of student-instructor and student-student interaction to student learning and satisfaction in Web-based Online Learning Environment
This study shows the importance of interaction to student learning within Web-based online learning programs. The population of this study was students enrolled in multiple academic disciplines at a private university in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. A Web-based research instrument was designed to assess students’ characteristics, their perceptions of learning, satisfaction, student-to-...
متن کاملPrediction of Student Learning Styles using Data Mining Techniques
This paper focuses on the prediction of student learning styles using data mining techniques within their institutions. This prediction was aimed at finding out how different learning styles are achieved within learning environments which are specifically influenced by already existing factors. These learning styles, have been affected by different factors that are mainly engraved and found wit...
متن کاملAnalysing Student Reflection in The Learning Game
Supporting student reflection is one of the goals of inspectable student models (ISMs). Several researchers have studied student reflection using a variety of strategies to support interaction with the student model. We explore student reflection using a general educational computer game environment called The Learning Game. The Learning Game provides tools to interact with the student model, m...
متن کاملStudent Modeling and Machine Learning
After identifying essential student modeling issues and machine learning approaches, this paper examines how machine learning techniques have been used to automate the construction of student models as well as the background knowledge necessary for student modeling. In the process, the paper sheds light on the difficulty, suitability and potential of using machine learning for student modeling ...

متن کاملContext in the Context of Physics and Learning
This paper re-centers the discussion of student learning to focus on context. A theoretically-grounded understanding of context and the relation of context to student learning are developed. This work argues for a contextual constructivist model of student learning, in order to support efforts in creating and analyzing environments that support student learning in physics. INTRODUCTION: To date...
